I began writing for the Connection Newspapers in 2014, focusing on stories about the plight of kids aging out of foster care. Over time, I expanded my reporting and also wrote an ongoing column. It’s been great to be able to combine my images and writing to tell stories that are relatable. 

My series on foster care alumni success stories earned a first place award in 2017 from the Virginia Press Association and my columns earned second place in 2015.
